Darnhill Festival 2016

Darnhill Festival 2016 will see the Festival Association and Cartwheel Arts throw down the gauntlet to the weather as we celebrate 'The Water Cycle'. So the procession at 12 noon will celebrate the seven seas, raindrops, rivers and rainbows. After the procession there will be a full afternoon of entertainment and activity, both creative and physical. There will be a full programme of music and dance on the main stage, Link4Life will be running activities in the kick pitch and Skylight Circus Arts will have you walking the tightrope in no time. In the Library you will be able to listen to a series of radio plays about the Water Cycle devised by children from 5 primary schools in Heywood, and pick up a copy of the book they have written. In the Tell Us Another One marquee pupils from Heap Bridge will be broadcasting live on Manchester radio station ALL FM. Of course there is a serious side - many of our neighbouring areas have seen too much water over the last year, and Red Rose Forest will be on hand to show who important trees are in reducing the risk of flooding. Be sure to look out for the Water Cycle itself as our water cyclist rides around the estate - you may need a brolly!
